This article is shallow because it raises a serious issue - the shift of Israeli society to the right and even toward racist attitudes and behaviour - but fails to even attempt to analyse why this has happened. Levy`s explanation is: "Lieberman is the voice of the mob, and the mob craves hatred, vengeance and bloodshed". What creates a "mob"? And why do they suddenly "crave hatred"? Gideon needs to ask these questions seriously and address why people who did not hate Arabs before suddenly do? It is such a serious development in Israeli society that superficial articles like these are harmful and counterproductive. |
