... something will enlighten you with the most banal insights that normal thinking usually gives: that the Israeli Arabs are there as their ancestors have lived there for centuries. Their grandparents were lucky because the State founders did not succeed in driving them out like the majority of the native population. (Nobody`s perfect!) They don`t like the State because many of them have been treated like dogs ever since. Now instead of giving them equal rights not only on paper, the debate is about expelling them too. That`s what Gideon Levy wanted to point out. |
