People tend to overlook the fact that Obama?s proposed policy is not that much of a change. Many overlook the fact that in the closing months of his administration, Bush started a dialog with Iran. This came about after the failure of his initial policy to ignore Iran, and then his follow-up policy failure of giving Iran the silent treatment. All the time Bush refused to talk to the Iranians, they just got stronger.
Of course having Obama willing to talk to the Iranians does not mean the Iranians will talk to him. Actually, Iranian officials, from Ahmadinejad down, have made it clear they will not talk to Obama because he is a {gasp!} ZIONIST! |
