| Israel has been striving for this conclusion for many years while America and the EU nations made mild objections along with much hand wringing. In fact, the Saudi plan never really has to be considered dead. There have been much larger migrations of population in the cases of India/Pakistan and Greece/Turkey. Even though Israel is much smaller geographically, the number of Israelis to be relocated is also much smaller. Israel can never make it impossible to accept the "Saudi plan". They can only make the implementation of such a plan more and more difficult. In any case, America and the EU have shown no interest in pushing Israel into a west bank withdrawal. Any criticism of Israel regarding their avoidance of peace should be shared equally by America and the EU. Israel is not motivated to take on such a difficult and dangerous course of action by such faint objections as America and the EU have given. |
