| The cause of censorship is the refusal of Israel to admit what is happening. Yet this story proves it. Israeli Arabs had better get out while the getting is good. The mood of the nation closely resembles that of Germany in 1933 with the exception that there was still some liberal resistance to the Nazis in 1933 Germany while there is no significant resistance to the Nazi equivalents that are poised to take total control of Israel. The racism has reached the point where the next step will be racial laws, and if the Arabs do not get out of Israel, the inevitable next step will be to force them out - or worse. Haaretz can pretend that Livni didn`t mean it, and Bibi is just joking. But they - and Israelis - are not. |
