sadly true. the last decade of peace talks have been a charades on the part of Israel; on the part of the Palestinians too, but mainly of Israel. fake talks that brought nowhere, the continuation of roadblocks, wall building, settlement exapnsion, etc....have only weakende Abbas who did anything he could to keep appearances up....Barak is a fraud, Livni comes from Likud so not much can be expected of her. Netanyahu is terrible but maybe Gideon Levy is right: he will take the mask off Israel and Obama may finally make The USA a bit stricter towards Israel.
My only problem is having to live with such an extreme right government (liku, lieberman,shas) even for just 2 minutes is terrible. What a shame for Israel!......how did it all get so bad?? |
