There is already a precedence to the scenario that author describes; the US elected a neo conservative president for 8 years, during which he managed to get the US involved in several wars, destroyed its image, distanced many of its allies, brought its economy to ruins, and refused to act on the pressing environmental issues. But the results of these grave failures, is a new president who is very liberal, green and who does not believe that use of force is the solution to all problems. In order for Israel to undergo this change, they would need a right wing government that would drive this country into an unprecedented crises.
I don`t believe it is the only scenario though, a unity government with Kadiman and Labor, is a very likely scenario, and more of the same policies is its most like outcome. |
