| One can argue about the cause of the recent war in Gaza, one can argue whether the IDF committed war-crimes there (well, in the case of the use of white phosphorus in densly populated areas, things seem to be rather clear), but there is one thing one can not argue about: It was Israel that actively supported the foundation of Hamas during the 80`s of the past century in order to weaken the PLO and their leader Arafat, and in order to prevent any form of a future 2-state solution. It is simply a fact, that Israel (among others) contributed heavily to the rise of Hamas, even by financial means. And exactly there lies Israels joint responsibi- lity (to put it mildly) for the current mess in Gaza..... |
