Finding Phosphorus burns in Gaza means that Phosphorus was used but does not say yet anything about the intent of the use nor by whom.
The article quotes the reports on White Phosphorus and the statement: "Hamas was making use of an ordinance that contains phosphorus". Unfortunately the articles does not, for the less than careful reader of the news, remind them that phosphorus had indeed been detected in some Hamas motors--- among them a shell that hit Eshkol Regional Council two weeks ago. The reason that the medical services have these studies is that not only do HAMAS and other Palestinian para-militias have White Phosphorus in their arsenals but that they have them to use wholly as anti-personal weapons. Without tanks there can be no other use by them. Such burns are their goal and not a by-product of their use. |
