Can no one see the irony?
The Pope tells his followers that Jesus (a Jew) suffered for their sins. It seems that this was not enough for them.
For nearly two thousand years the Catholics have made the entire Jewish people suffer for their sins:
A primary problem is the blaming of ALL Jews (even those yet to be born) for the Roman`s killing of Jesus. Any historian of the period knows that Jesus was supported by the Jews, only a very small elite of Jews worked with the Romans. This problem was made worse by the Romans renaming Israel as Palestine after the Philistines of Gaza; A Judeophobic act of vandalism used to the present day by Jew-haters.
Secondary and related problems are the Catholics continued efforts to persecute Jews with pre-shoah niceties such as the inquisition. Today they still pray for Jews to become Catholics.
Surely the Catholic Church is now established enough not to require Jewish suffering for it to survive? |
