| I think not finishing the job says more about world politics than it does about Israeli leadership. That is really the only reason why the job was not completed and its a significant reason. To me, as an outsider, and of course its only the opinions of insiders that count, Barak has the right balance of pragmatism, experience, toughness, and good will towards the critical project of creating two states. In other words he is balanced. Tzipi is not far off. Benjamin N would be a disastor. Of course, its easy for me to say this because I`m not directly in the line of fire but I do have many relatives who are. I agree with Barak`s tunnel solution. It meets the requirements of making "Palestine" viable, it doesn`t eat up the very little valuable surface space that constitutes Israel, it represents a very manageable security threat and it provides a legitimate basis for exchange of territory. If the Pals need &/or want to utilize Israeli territory, it has to be on the basis of an exchange. |
