Yet it is all the more infuriating how easily and thoughtlessly and calously Hamas risked all this happening. Hamas knew full well who would suffer most from the inevitable Israeli retribution for the many hundreds of quassums and grads and mortars that they have been raining down on south Negev communities for all too long. Yes the disproportion in devastation is astounding, but that is what is liable to happen in all-out-war, alas. Hamas knew it, and Hamas was prepared to risk it, a crime on its own. |
