| Mr Erdogan seems to have needed our President`s verbal slap in the face to find the words to state the obvious about Gaza and The West Bank. Of course bi-lateral relations mean just that - both we and Turkey have much to gain from our friendships - and a whole lot more to lose if they break down. Despite Peres` office putting out a statement saying that he never said "I`m sorry" for the public insult of Turkey`s Prime Minister, the grand old man of Israeli politics would do both himself and us a lot of good, and earn us a new measure of grudging respect, if he did in fact now utter those words. |
