| lots of anti-catholic bigotry. The bishop is a fool. But blaming the pope is nonsense. Ending excommunication was fully unrelated to the bishop`s stupid views: it was just a way to overcome the schism. It was a generic measure, linked to different matters, namely that they he and the other schismatic bishops were ordained without the Vatican`s approval. Nobody in the catholic church agrees with this guy, and certainly not the pope. It is very simple: the generic de-excommunication should stand (no need for continuation of the schism) but the bishop himself should be told that he is a dangerous idiot. That is actually what the Vatican already said he is, in their words. And his apology is indeed rubbish. But don`t use this event to turn the pope into an anti-semite. |
