I sincerely believe this article makes a valid point. Being Jewish and being brought up in a very zionist environment, I bought into a lot of the storytelling that distorted my mind until I started to find things out for myself. The suffering of Jews is a historical fact, but that it would serve to remove the very real suffering of the Palestinian people is just plain wrong. Two wrongs do not make a right. Israel is a young state, it was created out of necessity. But it also made a lot of mistakes along the way. This is normal. Especially given the meddling of the rest of the world. Not to acknowledge these mistakes is not normal and, indeed, not healthy. There is a way out of this after all. Maintaning pride in one`s country and its importance does not mean that you have to take from the other side what is not yours to take. Recognising fault is big and from this we can all grow. There were people here before we came and we owe it to them and ourselves to start thinking about this.
