| i wonder about this article. i wonder that people who call themselves scientists juxtapose "zionist narratives" in opposition to "critical narratives" without defining what "zionist narratives" and "critical narratives" are. their juxtaposition suggests that a) "zionist narratives" cannot be critical, and b) "zionist narratives" are wrong whereas "critical narratives" are right. however, taking into consideration all narratives of people who call themselves zionists, one can see that also zionist narratives can be critical and according to the facts (i. e. right). and taking into consideration all narratives of people who call themselves critical, one can see that not each critical narrative is according to the facts but actually wrong. so we have here two so-called scientists who ignore scientific objectivity. instead they appear to be dictated in their "scientific" work by their own political view which seems to be rather negative about zionism. by the way: when i read detailed datas of the study (which can be seen here: http://www.tc.edu/news/article.htm?id=6812) i don`t come to the conclusion that "israeli jews` consciousness is characterized by a sense of victimization, a siege mentality, blind patriotism, belligerence, self-righteousness, dehumanization of the palestinians and intensitivity to their suffering". it rather appears to me that this was already the scientists` opinion before the study and that now they interprete the study according to their opinion but not according to what the study really says. (in this context one could also add a word or two about the kind of questions and given answers which don`t give the chance for being more accurate.) |
