The Jewish people sadly has been victim to every kind of persecution, from ghettoised, to pogrom to extermination. Being the victim is their experience born out of multiple historical fact. Israel since its inception has been at war with its neighbours. No other country in the world is threatened with extermination. Of course it informs Israeli poicy and attitude - it should.
