| What most Palestinians talk about is ending the occupation, because its a living hell and they want a life. The occupation is the big provocation that threatens Israel`s security, not helps it - believe it or not people who are occupied in such a brutal way generally turn against their occupiers and those who support them (see Iraq) Before the first intifada the IDF was killing Palestinian civilians in their multitudes. They killed many people protesting their house getting demolished or their farmland dispossessed. This happened frequently and goes on, it`s the nature of transferring a population and making them refugees. The occupation is required to protect illegal settlements that have grown in the West Bank by 14,199 in 2007, 14,792 in 2006 – Israel actively not recognizing Palestine. By taking 40% of the West Bank, 83% of its water supply and starving, bombing 1.5 million people in Gaza, Israel is evidently more committed to the destruction of Palestine than the other way around. |
