First, the strong majority of Americans who were polled supported Israel`s actions and appropriately blamed Hamas. Second, this little academic group, being people of conscience, will, I assume, boycott numerous entities & countries including Hamas, Lezbollah, Sudan and others. The point made by the professor that Hamas`s willingness to speak with Israel is de facto recognition of Israel isn`t persuasive in light of suicide bombings & rocketing civilians. Then there is the use of human shields and hiding weapons in infrastructure such as Mosques, schools, Universities and hospitals. Israel is willing to talk to Hamas as well if Hamas recognizes it, renounces violence & agrees to abide with previous agreements entered into by Pal governmental reps and Israel. How unreasonable!
Alumni out there, at the implicated institutions, make clear your convictions about the conduct of the Professors. They would spend their time much more constructively encouraging peaceful co-existence. |
