| Although I oppose all extremism -- as do almost all traditional Jews, the IDF does require a Rabbinate. The Torah says a Cohane spoke to the soldiers before going into battle -- and today a Rabbi must accept that responsibility -- so much the better if the Rabbi is a Cohane! |
