As to why they were supportive of social change in Russia, well you might want to read accounts of their condition under the czar, the pogroms, forced expulsions, mass starvation. Of course all Russians were experiencing privation during the war, but all took their frustrations out on the Jews. So whats to love about the czarist regime? |
