| Jewish-Catholic ties improved solidly under John-Paul 2 but now under Benedictus is in a freefall. Under Benedictus, the Vatican *jeapordizes diplomatic ties with Israel, *blames Israel when Palestinians commit violent acts against Christians, *compares Israel to Nazis, *denies Jewish historians access to Holocaust-Era records in the Vatican library, *seeks to declare a saint the Pope that made a pact with Hitler, *incites Medieval Antijewish hate-speech by resuscitating the Latin Easter prayer that calls Jews `blind` and seeks to destroy the Jewish people by converting them to Christianity, And so on, and so on. Benedictus is responsible for much Antijewish hostility and is close to losing frienship with the people who God chose. The previous Pope John-Paul 2 accomplished so much good. But Benedictus jeapordizes all of it. |
