"Every modern bomb is made with depleted uranium." - JMK
Twaddle.
"That is how modern western explosives penetrate so effectively. That is a fact." - JMK
That is not a `fact`. In fact, DU of advantage in certain uses where small volume and high density favor it.
But not for bombs. Modern penetrating bombs use casings made of Eglin Steel. This is an alloy developed by the USAF at Eglin AFB, Florida specifically for that purpose.
Many US `bunker busters` and `cluster bomb units` use very small quantities of DU in the resin hardener used to `pot` electronics.
But that is insignificant. Most examples of widespread DU contamination involve US manufactured 30 x 173 mm automatic cannon shells.
Others involve 20mm automatic cannon shells. |
