Cipora: "this conflict was never only about a piece of land. It was always about religion..."
Well, as a matter of fact, the "Holy Land" idea has turned what was and still is a mere piece of land (and at present sadly unholy!) into a religious artefact. So that we have this conflict about a "religious" piece of land is indeed a religious war. Hence "most difficult to overcome" as Cippora rightly points out - until people are sufficiently enlightened to realize how backward it is to fight over territory - and how civilised it would be to share it instead. |
