| The trouble is that there is a powerful element in Israel which simply doesn`t want peace; and Israel shows no sign of facing them down. In particular the settlers cannot accept peace. Peace would mean resolving the situation of the West Bank: either the abandonment of most of the settlements, or giving Israeli citizenship to millions of Arabs. |
