it is being reported that iran has sent a ship with sixty tons of weapons to hamas. included are numerous fajr and grad missiles. both israel and egypt are on the hunt for the ship which changed names and flags in mid-voyage.
it is impossible to understand the israel-palestinian conflict without putting it in its larger, geo-strategic dimensions. this conflict was never only about a piece of land. it was always about religion and the interests of superpowers and regional powers. iran is motivated both by religious fanaticism and by hegemonistic interests. it is for this reason that this conflict is much more complex and difficult to solve than almost any other. the religious dimensions of the conflict are the most difficult to overcome. |
