As a retired artillery officer I do in fact know this for a fact, and unlike you I do have a clue, it has no other use besides armor penetration.
The Israeli Navy tested DP rounds 20 years ago and found that it had no use for the round because none of the naval forces in the area has any vessels that are armored. HE rounds are far more useful.
The IDF ground forces do not nor EVER used DP. We have found that HEAT rounds are sufficient for all of the tanks that have been used against us.
The claim that DP rounds extend the range of rounds is so funny. Natallie what universe do you live in? Because your claims violate the laws of physics. A heavier round fires a shorter range when fired from the same weapon. Very simple physics tells us this. |
