| Ian it`s almost funny you compare Blair to Obama. Don`t get me wrong, I liked Blair, especially in the beginning of his reign. No doubt that he did good for the UK and brouhgt about some policies that were fruitful domestically. And then....he became Bush`s lapdog and that killed it for him. I remember vividly in July 2006 G8 Summit when his convo with bush at the lunch table was being broadcasted (unbeknowned to both of them discussing the cease fire), eventhough he was standing by bush`s chair as bush was in the chair eating his food, Blair body language spoke certain truths about their psychological paradigm. After the summit, If I recall correctly, he bowed to bush`s demand on Israel/Lebanon deal in exchange for some envionmental bill coming up the following Jan in Japan. January came & bush didn`t stick to his end of the bargain. I heard blair was furious about it. Anyway to compare a charismatic leader like blair to a pragmatic and charsimatic leader like Obama is unfair to both. |
