Arens has it right. Instead of leadership, the Olmert-Livni-Barak government supplies endless spin and soap bubbles. The army went in, destroyed all opposition and is now withdrawing with minimum loss of Israeli soldiers and civilians, but also, without really finishing the job and taking control of the Rafiach-Egypt border in order to stop further arms smuggling. Hopefully our jerkish "leadership" will get the message from the voters in the coming election.
BTW, haven`t seen much comment that losses to Gaza infrastructure are practically equivalent to IDF expenditures for the last month : approximately $1.5 billion. Almost seems that it costs as much to destroy as to rebuild. |
