| If the new american administration is willing and able to exert strong pressure on the new Israeli government, such that the government is forced to take a reconciliatory path towards peace, then it will be better that the new government is Likud. That way at least some part of the forces of the right will not be mobilized against the move towards peace. But this is a big "if." I doubt that the new american government will be able to twist the arm of an Israeli government effectively. At the end, and as they will see through the Israeli tricks, the americans will spend another ten years trying half measure leading to nowhere. |
