| the question in my original post(obama`s challenge) was what ready made pressure does obama have to pressure syria. your response is that obama will offer incentives. incentives are not part of pressure. furthermore, offering the golan is not quite part of an american prerogative. i seriouusly doubt that israel would agree, even under pressure, especially not under likud. nor do i believe in the syrian propaganda that it has much, if any, influence on iran; or that syria would give up its relationship with iran. assad seems to share some of the radical ideology of "resistance." (see interview in der spiegel)regardless, iran would continue its pursuit of nuclear weapons. that is the essential problem with iran. iran would also continue its support of radical terrorists, with or without syria. the regime in iran will not give up its ideology of the islamic revolution. |
