Continued endorsement of war against Gazan civilians, which is exactly what the siege is, will make Hamas political support stronger among the people of Gaza. Israel won`t risk Palestinian elections again for some time. It is doubtful that Abbas, the Acting PA President, will gain support among Gaza`s civilians by that tactic either.
You might note also that the UK siege of Germany, post Armistice, was one of many contributing factors to the second phase of the Great European Civil War of the 20th Century. |
