Contrary to many posts about the subject you are sincere and bring arguments to the discussion. I think you are mistaken. Those who did not accept the creation of Israel were the arab countries and only a small part of the local population. This has changed, we have peace treaties with some and probably more to come. During the 1967 war, not a single bullet was fired by an israeli arab. The war was again again arab states. After the war there was a mutual discovery between the arabs of the occupied territories and israeli jews. Thousand of israelis went, shopped ( powdered milk was a big hit) and fraternized. Again not one bullet was fired. And what did they get? settlements and creeping annexation.
You mix Hamas and the palestinians. Hamas is a fascist and hateful organisation. Just remember that it was practically encouraged by the Shamir goverment to weaken the PLO. Short sightness who created a monster. We have only ourselves to blame. |
