| "Mr. President, quietly encourage Israel to carry out its own longstanding policy of removing illegal settlement outposts." - Bradley Burston Too little, too late Mr. Burston. Israel has allowed it`s mad dogs to run loose for too long. It has expanded it`s `legal` settlements so much that the situation is intolerable to the Palestinians. The days of a decade ago, when Israel could have retained many of the settlements have passed. The yoke of burden upon the Palestinians was not harsh in the 1970s, but became ever more brutal in the 1980s. In the 1990s the illusion of Oslo became the certainty that Israel had no intention of any `final status` with any Palestinian upon land coveted by any Israeli. In the last decade Israel managed to shovel dung on Abbas and urinate in the face of peace. The Israeli right has had it`s fun Mr. Burston and there is nothing the US can do to save Israel from them. The Israel left will have to develop the spine to take on your mad dogs yourself. |
