The settlements are NOT crippling peace - peace is not possible with those whose express goal is to destroy you, those who teach their little children to become killers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTGbP55HGi8). Take note: In 1948, the UN proposed a "two-state solution." The Arabs attacked 1n 1949, Egypt and Jordan took control of Gaza and the West Bank; There were NO Israeli settlements between 1949 and 1967 - If settlements are the root of the violence and removing them would bring peace, why was Israel subject to terrorist attacks during those two decades? Israel left Gaza in 2005 - If settlements are the root of the violence, why did the attacks on Israeli soil intensify almost immediately after the settlements were removed? If Palestinians truly cared about peace, and wished to live with Jews in peace, why would they care about a few thousand Jews living in "their territory" - the way a million Arabs live as Israeli citizens? Please, ppl, don`t be naive. |
