I`ll start with a compliment Jeff. Of the regular pro-Israel posters, you`re one of the most effecive, because you always stay calm and friendly and you always bring plenty of facts with your arguments.
Having said that, I think you`re wrong here. I don`t particularly dispute Israel or Egypt`s right to control their borders with Gaza. Hamas are not nice people and are a pain for both Egypt and Israel. You are also probably right about Israel legally controlling Gaza`s waters. However, I`m sure you can see that it is not acceptable for Israel and Egypt to close their borders AND to keep the seeways closed as well. It`s not the same as Britain mounting a naval blockade of a large country with land borders, like Germany. Blockading a small, vulnerable area like Gaza is not morally acceptable, and I`m fairly sure that it`s not legally acceptable either. |
