War is not a humanitarian endeavor, sir. And no one can deny that Israel had been provoked beyond tolerance. Do not forget the suicide bombers crossing over from Gaza; don`t forget that Qassam missiles have been fired into Israeli population centers.
Did you forget that Hamas deliberately secreted weapons in Palestinian populated areas, in mosques, in schools, in hospitals. Did you conveniently overlook the tunneling activity?
Would you have preferred to see a Dresden-type operation? It would have killed a lot more Palestinians, with no Israeli casualties.
Positive world opinion would be nice, but the fact remains that there is a significant population in this world that will not be satisfied until Israel is eradicated. So public opinion means not a whit. What does matter is the protection and defense of Israel and its citizens. Through whatever means necessary and if the world doesn`t like that, too bad. |
