| Abbas--has lost a significant amount of legitimacy from this--particularly among the arab nations. If israel was smart, they would ensure that the Palestinian cause be--Palestinian--not islamic and not arabic, as that draws in support from the arab and islamic world--this war did the exact opposite--and that is going to be problematic for israel in the long run. if the goal of this war was to stop rocket fire---it failed if it was to stop smugglin-it will fail--israel could not stop smuggling when it controlled the borders. if it was to remove hamas from power--it entrenched them if it was to embolden abbas--it weakened him if it was to serve as a deterrent--it has not-just like lebanon-- so other than killing 1300 people---half of them women and children---what has israel accomplished of its stated goals-----????? |
