Israel has been desperately clinging to her worn and tattered "security" excuse as a fig leaf attempting to cover up the naked fact that ISRAEL COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE GAZA FIASCO ALTOGETHER, PEACEFULLY, HONOURABLY, AND AT NO COST TO HERSELF, SINCE ALL THE SETTLER INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE WEST BANK IS DUE COMPENSATION TO PALESTINIANS DENIED THEIR RIGHT TO RETURN. The Israeli taxpayer can not avoid this debt, insuring Israel`s survival. Avoiding it dooms Israel, endagners the world:
Israel can not claim justifiable self-defense in Gaza with a brutal hand which has scandalised the world, whilst the other hand clings to the sweet fruits of her land piracy in the Occupied Territories. The "quiet" demanded by Israel thereby is morally reduced to a travesty.
The irresistible power of Arab community peer pressure backed by the International Community would peacefully have achieved the?quiet? Israel sought in Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran to come, God forbid, had she accepted the Arab League Peace Initiative. Every war renders such peace increasingly difficult, digging a pit of no escape. |
