I thought it was totally inappropriate for the parents and their media sympathizers to pressure the government to "pay any price" to bring their boys home. I found the sight of Kuntar, feted and welcomed as a "hero", to be beyond disgusting. He is ready to take more lives, as the prisoners Hamas wanted for Shalit are ready to do.

But given the state of things now, after the IDF has given Hamas a royal beat-down and is sitting within Gaza, now is the time to press for a deal on Israel`s terms. The notion of releasing hundreds with "blood on their hands" should now be off the table. If the IDF leaves without Shalit in hand it will be to the disgrace of Israel`s current leadership.
