| The Israeli cabinet has decided that all objectives of the war have been achieved. Will the rockets stop? Maybe or maybe not. Has Hamas been humiliated. Definitely yes. Is Hamas still in control of Gaza. Definitely yes. Did lots of civillians in Gaza suffer as a result of this war. Definitely yes. So have the objectives been met? If they were to humiliate Hamas, to collectively punish Gaza for having elected Hamas, and to put up a show of force for the whole Arab world then definitely yes. But if they were to stop the rocket fire and to dislodge Hamas from Gaza then definitely no. So what were the real objectives of this war? Readers judge for yourself. |
