Many people will analyze the Gaza war. The timing, indiscriminate force and of course who gained what. With hindsight, it appears the timing had a window of opportunity. Like, before Obama assumes office, Israeli elections or GW Bush would approve. All those are obvious, but the reality is more complex then all that. Actually Hamas as a last resort, adopted a tactic of inflicting `civilian pain` on south Israel. Whether physical or psychological. Knowing full`well, a military reaction would come. Like al-Quida or Hezbollah beforehand, screaming control of Moslem-land won`t be tolerated. Hamas was willing to pay a price, come what may. Now, with the truce about to start. Hamas is hoping to parlay a military stand, lost as it is. Into a way to accredit itself. Abu Marzouk said `anyone trying to impose a cease-fire in Gaza will have to deal with Hamas`. So was this a way to force world community to dealt with Hamas. I believe, it can be seen in that light.
