| Johnboy, I recently agreed with your entry so permit me to explain why not "occupation". The legal definition of occupation operates only in the context of occupying land that belongs to another sovereign country. Neither Gaza (from which Israel departed) nor the West Bank qualify as such becuase there was no sovereign entity there. Jordan administered the West Bank prior to 1967 and Egypt administered the Gaza strip prior to 1967. If they adminsitered and that is the correct term that was used so too Israel administers the West Bank today. |
