It`s hard to disagree with the idea that human rights matter; that war is bad; that unneccesary killing is unnecessary and that if we could, we all ought to work everything out peacefully, ethically and morally. Yet, in this awful Hamas vs Israel conflict what do we see: 1)The so-called peacemaker, the UN shelters Hamas fighters and is seriously and disproportionatelt arrayed against Israel.2) The "anti-Zionists" (we`re not agains Jews; just against Israel) violently protesting all over the world and firebombing synagogues and among other things suggesting the Jews go to the ovens again. 3)A highly supposedly moral outcry for Israel to stop killing civilians (which it is); with no countervailing outcry for Hamas to remove itself and its weapons from the dead center of its own civilians. The pained cry for human rights extends, unquestionably, to the "Palestinians" (no mention of the cause of the pain, Hamas; which has hijacked Gaza)but nary a word for the human rights of the Jews.
