| The main difference between Gaza and the West Bank is the lack of an international border for the Palestinians to smuggle in weapons. This is the best reason that the Jordan Valley needs to be retained by Israel and shows the folly of abandoning the Gaza-Egypt border. Just look at the resupply of weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon after the war and despite the presence of UN troops. Ending the present war without securing the border insures that there will be a second Gaza war in short order. |
