The only reason Livni and Barak want to stop the invasion now is because they want to save their asses before the Iraeli elections in February and be able to claim a victory. With every passing day, as Israel loses the diplomatic war and the danger os losing Israeli soldiers increases (and Barack Obama`s inauguration date approaches), they can now claim victory. Time is not on their side.
