| UNRWA, actually stands for: The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East. First concieved in 1949, three-yr mandate to provide aid & jobs for Palestinian refugees. They continue to operate to this day, extending refugee status to the decendents of its beneficiaries. Today this UN organization has a budget of over $500 million anually. They pay a staff of over 26,000 employees. In contrast the UNHCR, which is responsible for all the other refugees on the planet employs 6,300 staffers. 99% of UNRWA`s staff are local Palestinians. They are the largest employer in Gaza! These numbers are very important. We are always told to "follow the money"! I have & the trail leads to the gates of the UN. 500 million dollars, 26,000 employess, this is a cash cow, based solely on the Palestinians continuing to be refugees! I have had enough of this rubbish, & do not wish my people to remain refugees forever. UNRWA "Refugees R Us". |
