Johan - this is WAR. When fired upon, our soldiers fire back. They do not fire deliberately at civilians, but occasionally civilians get caught in the crossfire. All civilian death is regrettable - but this is WAR.
Hamas was voted in by the Palestinian people, on a platform of "Death to Israel". They cemented this initial vote of confidence with terror against their own people, slitting throats and hurling Fatah leaders from the tops of tall buildings.
Hamas unilaterally ended the Tahdiyeh - the so-called ceasefire, during which they would fire rockets and mortars and israel would close the gates in response. Hamas subsequently began raining rockets upon Israeli civilians. Not military targets - helpless civilians, in local towns and villages well inside the internationally recognized borders of Israel.
How would you respond? Because I would really, really like to know... |
