It so called offensive, which is really defensive, will eventually end and if it ends appropriately. As to the borders openeing up, Israel should permit goods through only for humanitarian purposes. Its should not let anything through unless and until the Pal gov`t recognizes Israel, commits itself in principle to peace and to negotiate. Of course, Gaza had open borders before Hamas and no Israeli presence until Hamas took over and started to shoot rockets at civilians.
No state is required to open its borders with another state. However, no doubt the Egyptians will open their border ... right. Afterall they are brethren. |
