The answer to your question is `yes.` Unfortunately, when someone is after your loved one with a knife intending to kill him, you have to kill the one chasing. Hamas` charter specifically calls for the destruction of the state of Israel and its Jews. In hiding among the population, Hamas wants to evoke world sympathy - sympathy like yours. They are being methodically dismantled. It is sad that many civilians are part of the equation. Israel is changing the equation. The great irony is that when this is over, the Palestinian civilians may be relieved that Israel did what they were unable to do. So, yes, while the deaths of 800 are regrettable, most of those 800 were fighters, too many were civilians and war sucks. It is also sometimes necessary. Cast Lead is such a necessity. Sorry that bothers you.

By the way, where were you when Hamas was launching their rockets?
